ESET offers a reliable anti-malware engine, a useful firewall setting and a password manager that includes form filling, browser protection and good network security tools. Its parental control as well as secure browser and anti-theft features are good, but nothing extraordinary. It does not offer a VPN or microphone protection, however it does provide remote screen capture or camera access for a view of what a burglar has been doing on your phone or laptop.

The app is designed with an intuitive interface that beginners are able to understand but also contains comprehensive information and features that are suitable for those who are more advanced. The company also offers excellent support, which is available via their website or directly from the client via the “support” tab that is located all the way at the bottom of the app.

ESET Internet Security’s status bar on top of the screen shows the protection it is providing to your computer. It also gives you precise statistics on the security. The program will notify you on the desktop, close to the system tray, when something important happens on your computer.

The antivirus’s antiphishing tools were extremely vigilant and blocked a lot of websites that I believed to be safe but were not listed on PhishTank. In addition when we connected a USB storage device into our laptop the software automatically scans it which was a bit irritating since most other antivirus programs ask you for permission to do this.
